Background of the Brand

1005 Design is the design department of American Trim. American Trim was established in 1951, and is a true entrepreneurial story of a family's vision to improve metal forming and finishing. American Trim began by solely targeting their capabilties to the appliance industry and have provided appliance consoles, panels, and trim to most major appliance companies. American Trim has continued to provide different innovative products to the appliance industry, but over the years the company has expanded into a variety of other industries that use decorated or coated metal products.

1005 Design was created to focus on our innovative design capabilities through the screen printing process using an American Trim specialty, aluminum. As a way to promote these designs a team at American Trim looked into a variety of markets and industries. One that seemed perfect for our capabilities was the kitchen backsplash market. Today the options for backsplashes are limited to the time consuming installation of tiles and the costly installation of stainless steel. With the addition of the 1005 Design Decorative Aluminum Backsplash, we can offer a unique look, easy installation and a lower price tag.
