Need a removable backsplash option?

If you live in an apartment or you just like to change your style often, a removable backsplash is the perfect solution. Apartment renters are told they can't make any permanant changes. That rule makes it tough to make an apartment feel like home. BUT with a few cuts and some picture hanging adhesive, you can add a backsplash to your kitchen that is easy to remove.

The basic instructions for installation don't change too much:

Easy as 1 - 2 - 3 Installation

1. Measure the space for the backsplash.

Measure the height of the area where you plan to install your removable backsplash. The backsplash panels are 18" x 30" and can be cut easily to fit your backsplash area. Each panel is unfinished on the back and has a protective film on the decorated front. You can easily mark your measurement and draw the cut line on the front of the panel.

2. Cut the panels to size.

HINT - Using a T-square makes cutting panels very easy to do. The backsplash panels are made from aluminum and can be cut with a utlity knife. Place your T-square along the cut line. Then, applying pressure to the utility knife, score the panel 6-8 times. When you turn the panel over you should see the impression of the cut line. Bend the panel on that line - you can again use the T-square to firmly hold down the portion of the panel you will be using while bending the excess.

3. Apply the panel.

3. First decide if you plan to use the trim. If using the trim, it can be easily attached with construction adhesive and silicone before adding the adhesive strips. Now add the hanging strips to each corner on the back of the panel. Then attach the top part of the strip and remove the backing so it is ready for hanging. Position panel in the backsplash area you just measured and repeat until finished. You will be very happy with the results!
